Multi-instrumentalist Joshua “J. Scott” Scott, has always been a reliable, workhorse musician, producer, and mixing engineer. Growing up in Anderson, SC, he was first introduced to music, becoming his church’s drummer at age 9. At age 16, he was afforded the opportunity to record drums on his church’s live session, opening doors for many more musical opportunities. Being influenced by one of his closest friends and fellow bassist, Damion Evett, J. Scott was introduced to bass guitar at the age of 21. From that point, his career skyrocketed into being a first call session and live bassist around the US and parts of the world. He went on his first international tour with the famous European gospel choir, The Golden Voices of Gospel, who’s claim to fame is performing with Michael Jackson on the “We Are The World” world tour.
At the age of 23, he moved to Dallas, TX to continue pursuing his career goals, not only as a professional musician, but producer and sound engineer as well. Since moving to Dallas, J. Scott has established himself as one of the top bassists and up-and-coming producers in the DFW metroplex. Throughout his career, he’s worked with The Clark Sisters, Tye Tribbett, Kierra Sheard, Kool and the Gang, Dave Hollister, Gary Owen, Michael Blackson, Norman Brown, Jonathan McReynolds, Jason Nelson, Jekayln Carr, Sir Charles Jones, Bernard Wright, Shaun Martin, Robert “Sput” Searight, Bishop Benjamin Dube, Drea Randle, Todd Galberth, Gail Jhonson, Bishop Gary Oliver, Samoht and many more. While he maintains a full schedule, he continues to dedicate himself to his craft, spending many hours practicing his many talents. His faith in God, work ethic, outgoing personality and prompt professionalism ensures him a long, successful career in both the music and business industries.
